Sooo... My first colour portrait/street photo. And it was a hassle. It may not seem like it, but there are SO many restrictions when doing one of these in colour instead of black and white!
No, don't worry, this is not the American Portraits restarting - simply a portrait I couldn't help uploading. Because I think it's pretty.
I seem to upload things I think are pretty a lot recently, don't I? Oh well.
lovely portrait mate.
i m looking at starting my own portrait series, could you maybe give me some info on your gear used (other than exif listed stuff )?
I d be especially interested in what sort of flash with or without diffuser and what filters you use...
Haha mate, that's funny - cause I don't use flash nor filters
It's all natural, baby!
And I've been using a Canon 350D with a Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 for all my portraits - but the latest uploads have been taken with a Sigma 12-24mm f/4.0-5.6, including this one.
Yeah, it's funny how he has a rim of blue around his eyes... I guess that comes with age for certain people, cause I've only seen it on older people.
And yep, colour portraits are ridiculous. With black and white, I'm used to dodging, burning, using curves where I want to... I can't do that here, cause then the colour changes too, so I have to be very careful about what I'm doing. Luckily this shot was really well exposed - otherwise I would probably never even have considered doing it in colour

The butter legion- a socialist movement/mass colab project I started, to trigger artistic change and evolution in Da artists (mainly my watchers), to make them more active and dedicated on DA. Now 170 people strong and growing... A "dangerous cult"? a "new religion"? "artistic version of fight club" or "communist movement"? You decide!
Hello there! This news article is the result of a thumb share thread I posted few days ago on the dA forum along with pictures from my favorites. I hope you enjoy them.

Color portraits are a hassle, I don't really enjoy doing them too much.
It's a lovely portrait though. The headphones really add to it as well.
