I met this old bloke sitting on a bench, during my visit in Bergen. He was looking the other way, so I sneaked up close to him and prepared the shot - and snapped it the second he turned around and looked at me.
After I took the photo, he muttered something to me, asking in norwegian if I had any spare coins - so I dug up my last few from my pocket and gave them to him - and without breaking our eyecontact, he put them in his pocket and thanked me.
I promised myself, that if I ever met him again, I have to buy him a cheeseburger. And a milkshake. Just for the hell of it.
Well, I start out by doing some contrasty curve to the whole image, and then slightly masking out the areas that have gone completely black or white. Then just keep applying contrast-curves and masking out where it needs to be masked out, burn here, dodge there... Yeah
And I love wrinkles! You just have to zoom in like 400% and use the burn-tool (around size 5-10 brush) and burn the wrinkles to make them stand out more...
Bare zoome helt ind på rynkerne, og så ellers en brush på 5-10 i størrelse, og så bare burne alle hans rynker lidt... Så er de meget tydeligere. Elsker rynker!
I really adore this picture. technically as well as emotionally close to perfect. I love the graduation here. It provides Contrast, yet has smooth, well defined grey/medium brightness areas. Well executed DOF, too.
I miss a frame, but I'm absolutely not shure whether it would help the picture or not.

To me, photography is an art of observation. It's about finding something interesting in an ordinary place... I've found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them-Elliott Erwitt.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
