For whatever reason when I see this I instantly think Alfred Hitchcock 'The Birds' meets Edgar Allen Poe. That is a compliment by the way.

The repetition of birds vs. the repetition of lines/patterns of the building really give that juxtaposition of nature and humanity. The roughness by the grain just adds and give that vintage feel and the use of black and white makes it seem so vintage.
Stuff like that always tends to happen to me.
