After taking a 10-day break off from my eurotrip, recovering from sickness, I picked up my backpack and stepped back out into the big world - first stop Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
After walking around for a while, enjoying the constant smell of weed around every streetcorner, I saw this guy standing in line in front of a butcher - apparently the meat was worth a wait.
I considered for a moment and decided to stand around, pretending that I was admiring some architectural work, waiting for this guy to get back out of the shop. A couple of minutes later, he came back out, and I hunted him down.
Turned out to be an extremely friendly guy - laughed hard when I asked him if I could take his portrait, and laughed even harder when he asked why, and I replied 'because you have a unique face'.
If you see this guy in Amsterdam, buy the man a beer - he deserves it.
I think his face seems really 2-dimensional. It seems to be floating above his body. I think it's because of the lighting, although it may just be his beard.
Haha, I kinda see what you mean... It's probably the beard, cause it kinda goes all the way around his head, creating a line between that and the rest of the photo...
Lovely as per usual Nully But hang on! That beard is whiter than the ice queen herself. Maybe a scootch too much on the dodging? (or burning, never can remember which is which)
Anyway, I send this man a digital larger

The beard is pretty damn bright, admitted, but it was in reality - and according to my monitor and the histogram in Photoshop, it isn't completely burnt out - so I'm safe
And I actually never dodged it, but I tried burning it to make it darker!

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

Please vieuw my
i love your portraits!
Something is up with this piece.
I think his face seems really 2-dimensional. It seems to be floating above his body. I think it's because of the lighting, although it may just be his beard.
Overall, though, another great shot.
