'Patrick'"I didn't do it! I have an alibi!!!"
Those were the first words that met me when I asked this homeless guy, wandering around a park in Boston, if he had a second to spare. He then turned around, twitched for a second, and looked back at me - and I laughed and told him that I only wanted a photo of him. Earlier, I had walked past him when he was rattling a cup with change - and that's when he got my attention; out of the blue, and aimed at no one in particular, he said loudly: "Somebody call an ambulance... I'm gonna get beat up tonight...
". Later, when I walked past him again, I was too intrigued to not stop and ask him for a portrait.
He never told me the reason to the exclamation earlier, but he did tell me, that the reason he ended up on the street, was because he once got robbed in an alley, where he got his face crushed by a metal pipe. Apparently, the blow had slightly damaged his brain too, and because of that, he somehow ended up walking the bostonian streets.
You're probably thinking 'that doesn't really make any sense
' - and honestly, I couldn't agree more - but that was all he told me before he suddenly had to go - and I wished him good luck with his night.
