Cleveland, Ohio 'Icecream man' This photo marks the beginning of a series I'm gonna work on while I'm in the USA - 'American Portraits' - a series of people right from the street. You'll probably see a couple of these within the next couple of months - hope you'll like them! Anyway, about this fellow: I saw this man sitting on a bench in a mall, eating a strawberry icecream. I really wanted a picture of him, so I went over and asked him if I could do a portrait, after which he replied: "What?". I repeated my question and he repeated his 'what'. He then put his icecream down, took off his sunglasses and his hat, and pulled out his earplugs, finally heard the question and agreed to it. It ended up a little awkward, since I had to ask him to put his stuff back on again, cause I really wanted it in the picture. And that's the story of the first portrait - more to come! btw did you edit the boston PIMP -- Alex G =Girolamo I want his hat. Loving the reflection, and the depth, and the tonal range, and just everything. It's interesting how you can see so much of him, and yet his eyes are covered up with the sunglasses. Makes me wonder what all you could've been able to tell of him if he didn't have them on.
-- (Avatar by VonCrowd, cuz she is teh awsum.) <3 I see what you mean. Unintentionally, all the portraits I've done so far have been of people with glasses, and I've gotten caught in the reflection numerous times. I considered removing it (this comment made me consider it even more), but I think it's kinda interesting to see the photographer in the shot. I know what you mean though...
I don't know, I think I'm gonna leave it for now. But I'll keep it in mind with the next couple of portraits! By the way, the next portrait I'm gonna put up reminds me of your style. I hope you'll agree! -- [link] - My Gallery [link] - My .PSD-files |
